2011 Basketball Banquet

2011 March Madness

Thank you Tom Lynch of The Bostonian Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center is sponsoring the Basketball Banquet for a fourth year!

2011 BASKETBALL BANQUET

I hope everyone had a good time at the Basketball Banquet.  This year we had over 430 players in the program, our most successful year yet!  I would like to again thank Commissioner Mike Doyle and all our wonderful coaches who donate many, many hours of their time.  It is due to their hard work and dedication that we have such a successful program.  Special thanks to Tenille Sheil and Aileen Buckley who ordered all the trophies and helped run the banquet this year.  They did a great job!!  Also thanks to Jane Cavaleri, Patti Connolly and Melissa Graham who jumped right in to lend a helping hand.  Finally thank you to Corinne Ball who singlehandedly ran the program for 7 years and has now stepped down.  This year wouldn't have been possible without her leadership and guidance (it took 8 people to do the work that she did all by herself).  Mayor Menino, Maureen Feeney and Father Sean came to give special recognition to Corinne and to present her with a few gifts of thanks.  Please check the pictures below from the banquet and March Madness.

Tom Lynch of The Bostonian Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center sponsored the Basketball Banquet for a third year! The unbelievable part is that Tom contacted us, we never solicited...he just wants to be a neighborhood friendly business and that he is!  The Bostonian had offered their facility for neighborhood groups to meet and several groups took him up on it, including the Greater Neponset Parks Committee, The Community Grant Writing Committee, Dorchester Substance Abuse Coalition, etc. each hosting monthly, sometimes even weekly meetings at this wonderful facility where Tom's generosity has no end, he always has a friendly and accomodating staff on hand and provides cheese & crackers, fresh fruit and beverages so please consider stopping by and visiting a resident, if you are a Scout leader think about having a meeting at the Bostonian, and Project D.E.E.P. students can get those last minute community service hours in by reading, playing WII or just talking with a resident of The Bostonian!  A large number of the residents were formerly our next door neighbors.  Call Tom Lynch or Pam Hooper for more information 617-265-2350.

We would like to thank our Very Generous Sponsors;

Tom Lynch of The Bostonian Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center has picked up the bill for the Basketball Banquet for a fourth year!  (please consider stopping by the Bostonian or send a note to thank him for his extreme generosity)
